What is Epi Info? • Produced by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization for the public health sector. Launched in 1985. • Program used to develop a questionnaire or form, customize the data entry process, and enter and analyze data. • Designed to run on Microsoft Windows 98, NT, 2000, and XP.
Main Characteristics of Epi Info 3.3 • MakeView program for creating data entry template for a survey • Controls for limiting data entry errors • Data Compare does double data entry comparison • Subroutines can be written to automate analysis • Allows import and analysis of other file types • Can export database to Excel and then use other statistical software for additional analysis, if desired
System Requirements • Windows 98, NT 4.0, 2000, or XP is required. • 32 MB of RAM for Windows 98; 64 MB for Windows 4.0 and 2000; 128 MB for Windows XP. • 200 megahertz processor is recommended - 300 for Windows XP. • At least 260 megabytes of free hard disk space (Drive C) to install; 130 megabytes after installation
