  3. Purpose for externships • A way to bridge school and work • Become familiar with a profession • Apply course work to real-life experiences • Work experience is relevant to your studies • Studies are relevant to your work experience

  4. Attendance • Face-to-face sessions • Week 1 (July 11) 1:00-4:00pm • Week 6 (August 1) 1:00-4:00pm • Week 9 (August 22) 1:00-4:00pm • Present I.D. & sign roster • CPT requires you to attend all three class sessions

  5. Attendance • Why am I marked absent other weeks? • Marked present during class sessions • Cannot report that you are present when you are not on campus • Marked “excused absent” other weeks • Excused absence does not affect your grade or CPT

  6. Course grade based on… • 30% - Attendance at class meetings • 30% - Mid-Term Paper • Due on or before Sunday, July 27 @ 11:59 pm • 40% - Final Paper • Due on or before Sunday, Sept. 7 @ 11:59 pm
