tahák Dear ladies and gentlemen, Let me introduce our institution. We have arrived to this friendly meeting from the city of Pilsen, which is the fourth largest city in the Czech Republic. It has population of about 160.000 citizens. It takes approximately one hour to reach it from Prague`s international airport by car. It lies exactly on the junction of four rivers. It is known by sport, brewery and tall cathedral. Pilsen is one of the 13 cities, where schools for hearing impaired are situated. Around 7600 hearing impaired people, who use hearing aids or cochlear implants or sing language, live in our country. Approximately 650 children attend kindergartens and elementary schools for hearing impaired. One can assume that next 1500 children with hearing problems are educated in ordinary school without sign language, but exact number is missing. 14
