NEW INNOVATIONS, Inc. Training Guide for Faculty
User Name and Password Enter your user name and password. The first time you log in they are the same, your first initial and your last name in lower case letters, no spaces between first initial and last name. (unless you have been informed you have a different user name and password by an administrator)
Welcome Screen After you log in you are taken to your welcome screen. On this screen you will see any department notices your coordinator has set up, and a link for any evaluations that need to be done, possible links to confirm procedures
Some sections such as “My Favorites” can be collapsed by clicking on the arrow or you can add or remove favorite links by clicking on the “Add/Remove”
You can also navigate by clicking on “Main” from the far left drop down list and selecting a module
Change Password Select Main>Change Password to change your password. If you forget your password your program coordinator can reset it for you. You can change both your user name and password but the two cannot match and they can only contain letters or numbers. Once entered click “Save”.
Evaluations From the Welcome Page under the heading Notifications you will be able to complete Evaluations by clicking on complete them.
Evaluations To complete an evaluation, simply click on the word Evaluate. ( If you were not with the subject long enough to evaluate them , place a check mark in the box(es) under NET and click the link that says: “Submit Selected Evaluations as NET)
Score the Evaluation Once you’ve clicked on Evaluate you will be taken to the online evaluation form. To score, select the appropriate circle for each question and populate any comment boxes
Submit the Evaluation Once you have finished scoring your evaluation form, click on the Submit Final button or if electronic signatures are required check the date box. You will be asked to make sure you are ready to submit. To finalize submission click the OK button ( if you don’t have enough time to complete it after starting you can click Save Draft and come back to it later)
Viewing Completed EvaluationsYou can view all evaluations that you completed about others and any evaluations that were completed about you that were not anonymous by going to EVALUATIONS>View>Completed Evaluations
Generating a Report to see your Personal Evaluation ResultsTo generate a report and see cumulative results for evaluations completed about you go to EVALUATIONS>Reports>Custom Evaluation Reports; click on “view” next to the report named Individual Report (General). Normally this will not include anonymous evaluations unless the program coordinator has set up the report to allow viewing of anonymous results.
Advisor Reports To view evaluations that were completed on your advisees go to EVALUATIONS>View>Completed Evaluations. To see an evaluation report about your advisees go to EVALUATIONS>Reports>Custom Evaluation Reports and click on view for the report called Advisor Report
Viewing Conference Information You can view a list of conferences that are scheduled for your department by going to Conferences>View>Calendar. This will display all scheduled conferences for the current month. By double clicking on name of the conference you can see topics, speakers and any files that have been attached.
Conferences- Attaching a FileIf you have been designated as a speaker for a conference you can attach a file to it. Go to Conferences>Setup>File Attachments. Select the conference, give the attachment a name, select the type of file and browse to locate it on your hard drive. Then click on upload file.
Confirming ProceduresIf you were chosen as a supervisor for a procedure either click on the link on the Welcome Screen or go to Procedure Logger>Add/View/Confirm >Confirm Procedure Logs
Confirming ProceduresClick on Confirm and Pass or Confirm and not Pass, or Refuse; populate any comments and click on Save Selections on This Page
Getting Documentation for this SoftwareTo print out documentation open any menu heading and click on the Online Help link. Click on the desired heading for the documentation you need and then after it is displayed place your cursor on the documentation. Right click and select Print to print it from your browser.
Getting SupportGo to the menu heading HELP and click on Contact Us. Make sure all info is populated: email address, category your question is for, a summary of your question and a detailed outline of your question. Make sure you include telephone number and your department. Someone from NI will contact you.
