Phase 2 & 3 Deployment Discussion Group 1 • Indicated preference is to have monitoring from December to February and June to August • Trailer to be deployed after all Phase 2 sampling has concluded but noted that Phase 3 could be deployed earlier if the initial data justified earlier deployment • Wanted to capture seasonality and have all information avaliable prior to deploying Phase 3 Group 2 • Wanted to conduct Phase 2 in the winter, spring and summer • With Phase 3 deployed in August or September so it would be able to capture winter air quality
Low-Cost Sensor Lending Program • Pilot program with committee members to determine whether a South Sacramento community program is desired • Empower residents to collect air quality information • Provide an educational opportunity • Supports objective #1: Increase air quality awareness in the community by making air quality information readily accessible and easy to understand Credit: www2.purpleair.com

2019 Community Selection Process • Start with CARB Board’s direction from last year • Prioritize monitoring communities for moving into a community emissions reduction program, guided by data and Steering Committee recommendation • Draw from 2018 priority recommendations • Provide continued support for the first set of communities • Timeline • Fall 2019: Air Districts work with communities to submit recommendations • Fall 2019: CARB conducts outreach on proposed recommendations • Late 2019: Release final staff recommendations • December 2019: Board Consideration of additional communities
