What is UIM? • ??????????????????????????? • Offers protection from under-insured and uninsured drivers • The limits are for the total occurrence • $60,000 that’s it! • 1 claimant and/or 10 claimants • It does not preclude you from filing a lawsuit against the adverse driver • It is a first party coverage like property but processed like a liability claim
What is MEP? • It is very similar to your personal auto PIP coverage • What is PIP? • This is limited to vanpool drivers only • It is always secondary • Coverage is limited to $10,000 • payments for reasonable and necessary medical expenses incurred as a result of a covered occurrence and includes payments for dental services, prescriptions, prosthetic devices, ambulance expenses, and funeral expenses. Benefits do not include loss of income or expenses for household services.”
So Who Needs It?!............. • Not employees • Initially established for vanpool drivers • Social responsibility • Optional coverage • Safety net • Unique only to WSTIP
