Before you start packing your bags, here are some survival tips for you, following which can help you with safe trekking in Nepal. 1. Make your body adaptive to the new climate Learning to acclimatize with the new surroundings can help you complete your trekking successfully without falling ill. The most popular trekking points in Nepal lies as higher as 3000 meters and above. Therefore, you need to make necessary stops at certain places to give extra rest to your body. For example, if you are going for Annapurna Circuit Trekking in Nepal, then you may have to make a stop at Manang to adapt to the new climate. It's important to prepare an acclimation schedule and stick to it religiously. It's even better if you add one more day to it. This will greatly reduce your chance of altitude sickness. Drink a lot of soup, and avoid diuretic products like caffeine and alcohol. Stay away from thermal wears, as they absorb more moisture, which will make you sweat more. As they don’t dry off easily, you will feel colder and damp while trekking. 3. Pack up with necessary supplies and equipment What you pack depends on whether or not you have porters alongside you.   2. should carry a tent, a sleeping bag, a sleeping pad, and a silk liner. For hiking, you need a good pair of hiking boots, camp shoes, wool socks, trekking shorts, a t-shirt, and underwear. Since you will be hiking through a wide range of muddy to snowy terrains, make sure to pack some backpacking boots and trail shoes. To combat the cold weather, make sure to bring woolen thermals, sweater, fleece, waterproof jackets & pants, heavyweight pants, winter hats & gloves. Some accessories to carry include water purification devices, water bottles, hiking poles, headlamp, baseball cap, sunscreen, hand sanitizer, toiletries, wipes, medications, throat lozenges, moisturizers, and a first aid kit. 4. Wear facemasks Without a doubt, Kathmandu is a hot and happening city but is overpopulated and polluted as well. Since the smog is thicker, you will often find locals wearing facemasks all the time. Exposure to such dirty air can cause infection in your throat. Make sure to wear facemasks during your time in Kathmandu. Once you reach the mountain, you will have access to ample fresh air. However, the air from high altitudes is harsh and dry. So, make sure to cover your face with a mask to avoid exposing your lungs to such harsh dry air. 5.
