AMSAdvanced Monitoring Systems Vanessa Lara Fernando Mora Luis Martinez AMS is a medical device that will revolutionize the medical industry by providing critical patient information to the ER nursing staff.
AMS Description… • AMS is based on monitoring a patient with the interfacing of a medical device. The information is then processed and extracted to a computer for transmission to a HCS12 board.
AMS Credo… • The need that our project fills is to better equip the nursing staff and promote a more reliable vital system monitor, that eliminates delays in the event of an emergency. • This project is unique because it represents a dedicated technology to eliminate latency acknowledgement errors and preparation time delays. • Society can benefit from this project simply because it maintains a safer environment in the Emergency Room and it will reinforce the sensibility and dedication that the ER staff provides during an emergency…
AMS Specifications… • The Dragon12-Plus board • MemorySerial interfaces • 256K flash EEPROM 2 Synchronous Serial Communications Interfaces (SCI) • 4K byte EEPROM 3 Synchronous Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) • 12K byte RAM Fast 25 MHz bus speed via on-chip Phase Lock Loop • Ports • 8-ch,8-bit or 4-ch,16-bit PWM • 16-channel,10-bit A/D converter
AMS Planning… • Hardware: SPO2 Reader Providing patient data • Interface Masimo Rad-7 with laptop and HCS12 • Test Wireless Transceivers Software: • Develop a C program for data extraction • Write the C code to transmit and receive • via wireless • GUI and Database development in • C# and SQL • Website creation in C# Final Integration: The project is unified by interfacing hardware and software..
Hardware and Software Testing Software: Software implementations are conducted in the base of output correlation and a debugging process. • This means that the software is tested in a variety of scenarios that are determined from a logical and physical debugging process. • A Graphical User Interface, Database, and Website are conducted and tested as information provided is adequate and correct. • Hardware: Hardware implementations are conducted on the base of connecting the Masimo Radical-7 and the PC to ensure that output can be transferred via serial. • Once the output is extracted, we test the HCS12 board and the PC to ensure that the connections are adequately in sync and can be interfaced with the software. • The best way to assure that the hardware is connected correctly is to test and troubleshoot any miscorrelations between devices and assure that the data collected corresponds to pre-defined values.
System Testing Testing Plan: • Identify focus areas to be covered by testing • Identify resources that can support this testing • Develop a test strategy, plan, and timeline • Make sure to have enough resources to complete the test • Resources: • -Hardware - Licenses • -Tools - Labor • -Software - Location • Consider physical planning and installation requirements • Develop a test schedule and does the System work? • √GUI √Database • Hardware (Patient Vitals)→able to extract vital sign information to PC and then sent via wireless through transceivers... Then placed on website. • GUI and Database interact within specifications and can be interfaced within hardware.
