1. Group “Stars”:- Who is your favourite writer?- Which books do you know?- Which is your favourite book? Our favourite writer is Charles Dickens. He is a famous English Realistic writer. In his books showed the many-sided life of English society of his time. His books gained a popularity all over the world and were translated into hundreds of languages. We know his following books “ David Copperfield” , “Oliver Twist”, “Great Expectations”, and etc. Our favourite book is “Oliver Twist”. He wrote this book in 1838 – 39 years. It is a story of young orphan boy Oliver. Oliver is born in a workhouse. His mother dies right after his birth and he is sent to the orphanage where he and the other orphans are treated terribly and fed very little.

His real name was Samuel Clemens. He wrote under the pen name Mark Twain. He went on to write several novels such as “Letter from Earth”, “The prince and the Pauper”, “ What is Man?” and including to major classics of American literature “ The Adventures of Tom Sawyer” and “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn”. Our favourite book is “ The Adventures of Tom Sawyer”. Tom is the main character. He is a troublemaker but he is a good boy. Aunt Polly takes care of Tom and his brother Sid. Mary is Tom’s cousin. She is a good girl and stands up for Tom.

We know his stories “Qaraca qiz”, “Sehirli samdan”, “Nureddin”, “Sehirli nagillar”, “Ahmad and Meleyke”. Our favourite book is “Ahmad and Meleyke”. Ahmad is a boy and Meleyke is a girl. Ahmad is ten and he is Meleyke’s brother. Meleyke is 6. They don’t have a father. They have a mother. Her name is Khadija.
