Mental Health Crisis Care: The Path to Engagement and Coproduction Partnership meeting 1: notes and actions @SocialEnt_UK @IVAR_UK #BHPselfcare #HIOWcrisiscare #HIOWcrisiscare Funded by NHS England and the Big Lottery Fund
BHP group’s priorities for local action • Bring together and learn from people with lived experience • Develop a collective and collaborative approach to problem-solving in health and care • Develop a co-produced, STP-wide MH crisis service map • Identify and benchmark against national standards • Review and explore digital solutions to support people in crisis • Share learning across the STP footprint and beyond • Build on what is already going on. @SocialEnt_UK @IVAR_UK #BHPselfcare
What helps us look after our mental health? What helps us recover and stay well? • Company of friends and partners • Exercise • Connecting with nature • Life management: eating well, sleeping well • Talking to friends and family • Holidays • “keeping the journey going forward” • Values: respect • Routine • Peers and shared experience • Food and wine • Meditation and mindfulness • Sense of belonging and being part of a community @SocialEnt_UK @IVAR_UK #BHPselfcare
What gets in the way? • Faceless relationships • Fragmentation/compartmentalization of our lives • Feeling you are a burden • Too many things to do • Disjointed services • Seasons/weather • Not enough opportunity • Finances • A lack of time • Stretched and demoralized staff delivering services – can’t get a fast enough response • Social media • The state of the world • Lack of social enterprise and opportunities – highest ESA, coming out of crisis into recovery and no opportunity @SocialEnt_UK @IVAR_UK #BHPselfcare
