PHD cam 1080p 12x vs 1080p 4x PrecisionHD 1080p comes in two versions: 12x and 4x. The PrecisionsHD 1080p 4x is a "light" version of the PrecisionHD 1080p 12x for the TANDBERG Quick Set C20 or C40 Integrator. The appearance of the two cameras is identical. There are no markings or other indicators on the physical form factor that identifies one camera as a 12X and the other as a 4X. The codec knows which type of camera it is. If you look at the statistics screen from the menus, or you type xStatus Camera, the codec will tell you if it is a 4X or 12X camera. 4x 12x
PrecisionHD 1080 4x restrictions The following restrictions apply to the 4x camera compared to the 12x camera: 4x optical zoom instead of 12x optical zoom Restricted to 30fps Not possible to daisy chain HD-SDI output disabled These restrictions are locked in software and there is no physical differences between the two cameras, however it is not possible to do a soft upgrade to from 4x to 12x. The 4X camera cannot be ordered individually at this time. It comes only with the Quickset C20 117700 and the C40 Integrator 1198252.
4x or12x? Best practices: The 1080p4X camera can be used when the farthest participant from the camera is no more than 12 feet from the lens. Beyond that you should use the 12X camera. In a multi-camera setup, always hook each camera to the codec as the first in the chain temporarily. This will allow the camera software to upgrade. This happens automatically and a codec reboot is not required. (The 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc cameras cannot upgrade from the codec, because of data limitations on the VISCA protocol.) When doing a major software upgrade to the codec, instruct the resellers to go through the exercise of upgrading each camera individually.
Main Features User Interface Improvements Integrator Benefits Optimal Definition ClearPath – Experimental Mode Multiway C20
IMPROVED MONITOR OVER SCAN COMPENSATION Previous release overscan Today: overscan compensation • Some Monitors will crop the image from the HDMI input • TC 3.0 can shrink the image to fit the screen
GENERAL PURPOSE INPUT / OUTPUT C90 & C60 Benefits Examples 4 Pin connector for Codec to signal current status (true/false) to other devices Integrate the codec with external devices for a better total experience Lights, microphones, curtains, projector (on / off)
Improved GUI function that allows you to select and active any audio components of your C90, C60 and C40 codec With the Audio Console work online to configure a codec in real-time, or you can work offline and make audio profiles that are saved in an XML format Easy to use –drag and drop tool AUDIO CONSOLE
OPTIMAL DEFINITION PROFILES - Video call at 1.1 Mbit/s HIGH - 720p60 MEDIUM - w576p60 Normal – w448p60 Typically used in dedicated video conferencing rooms Double resolution/frame rate with same bandwidth Requires good lighting conditions for a good overall experience Reduce bandwidth by 25% Require better than normal and consistent lighting Default setting in the product Normal to poorly lit environment Typical office setting
OPTIMAL DEFINITION PROFILES GRAPH HIGH / MEDIUM / NORMAL SETTINGS
OPTIMAL DEFINITION PROFILES - SETTINGS EXAMPLE Advanced configuration > Video > Input > Source1 > Optimal Definition > Profile > Normal Advanced configuration > Video > Input > Source1 > Optimal Definition > Threshold > 1280_720
Optimal Definition Summary • With the release of TC 3.0 – bandwidth requirements are reduced by 50% under ideal conditions • Bandwidth should not be a competitive concern • Generally, we recommend the Optimal Definition set at Normal • If lighting condition is conducive TEST the endpoint on the various Optimal Definition setting prior to implementation • Camera setting must be set to Motion to ensure the Optimal Definition works • With Sharpness, the endpoint will transmit the highest resolution possible, regardless of frames per second
CLEARPATH ClearPath is TANDBERG’s solution to minimize the negative effects of packet loss in a non-optimal network ClearPath will intelligently select a set of methods to ensure the best quality experience Available in TC3.0 in Experimental Mode as a technology preview
