Do Now Tell me one fact you learned about each of the following; Oxygen Nitrogen Carbon Dioxide
Revamped Classroom Procedures Today we are going to talk about our revamped and somewhat new classroom procedures. Yay!
Do Nows From now on I will give you the Do Nows when the bell rings. Once I project the Do Now, we will work on them silently together.
Before the Bell Students are to use the restroom before they enter my classroom! Students must also sharpen pencils and get a drink before the bell rings as well.
When Our Lesson Begins When I am giving a lesson in the front of the class we are to be seated quietly. There will be no talking when myself or any of you have the spotlight. Whoever has the spotlight, is the only person to be talking. Tennis Ball spotlight.
Transitioning • We need to work on better transitioning skills. • What do we believe is solid transitioning skills? • When ever we change topics, slides, activities, from Do Nows to lessons, and whatever it is…..we need to make it flawless.
Breaks • When we have breaks in the action, it is most appropriate to ask questions such as; • “Mr. V. can I please use the restroom?” Or • “Mr. V. can I sharpen my pencil?” Or • “Mr. V. can I please get a drink?” • You will be stamped if these ?’s are asked during my lessons.
Dismissal 3-5 minutes, most days, I will give you the heads up to finish up work/pack up your belongings. I WILL TELL YOU WHEN YOU ARE DISMISSED FROM CLASS
Costa’s Questions Activity • Your task: • I provide you with costa’s questions • You answer these questions with your C-Notes!
Do Now • 1) Define the two instruments that measure air pressure • a)Mercury Bar. • b)Aneroid Bar.
First Set of Notes pg’s 50-51 • 1) List some of the properties of air (at least 2). • 2) Define the terms • Density • Pressure • Air Pressure • 3) How does the density of air affect air pressure? • 4) How are Mass and Density related?
Second Set - pg52 1) Explain the process of the Mercury Barometer. 2) Explain the process of the Aneroid Barometer.
Third Set pg’s 53-54 1) Name the two units of air pressure and their conversion. 2) Define Altitude AND describe its relationship with Air Pressure. 3) Why is air pressure greater at sea level? 4)Is density higher or lower at high altitudes?
