  2. Location of most castles • Location of most castles is probably • In Europe: • France (that probably has the most) • Italy • Ireland • Britain • Rumania • Finland • Switzerland • Turkey • Poland • Spain and others

  3. The size of castles The main length of a castle is 450,000 sq. feet One stone of a castle weighs about 10 lbs.

  4. How castles were built? Find out here! Put up earthworks, dig the moat , the castle is made of stone ( a fundation would be built too) the wall was surrounded by a bailey , castle built by bare hands

How medieval Time castles Were built • Castles needed surrounding landscape (to have a very large amount of protection. ) • They were made out of wood and built on hills also known as mottes. • Almost all of the castles in Europe were made during the 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th centuries. • All medieval castles made by stone were built by bare hands.

  6. When castles Were built • Castles started being built during and after the death of Christ. • It got as far as the 16th century when others were still building castles. • Others think castles in Europe started being built from the 1100’s to the 1500’s.

  7. What jobs People that Lived in a Castle had? • Most servants were men- men do lots of work women couldn’t do • women had to cook and clean every day (if they didn’t have the women most men would probably starve to death even though they know how to hunt. )
