Committees • District committees and resource chairs exist for two reasons: • First, to advocate the area of interest among clubs that may either not understand it or see how it fits into their club's service mission. • Secondly, to help those interested or already active in an area to create successful projects or improve upon projects already in existence.
Expectations of District Committee Chairs • Be a Coach – Advise clubs on how to plan and execute successfully • Be a Club Communicator: • Periodic phone call or meeting to follow up • Promote submission of District Newsletter articles • Be seen - Attend major district events, including All Club Conference and other training and fellowship events as necessary • Participate periodically in Monthly AG/DG Conference calls – First Tuesday of month, 5-6pm • Familiarize yourself with RC Central & DACdb
Help Clubs Achieve Success • Get to know your counterpart in the clubs • Help clubs assess their strengths and weaknesses, and provide guidance to those that are facing challenges • Work with your district trainer to develop a training plan for clubs with specific needs. Your DG and AGs can refer you to clubs that need your committee’s support. • Since you can’t visit every club, consider a webinar or conference call with clubs

At the district level? • How does your committee contribute to the district’s goals and strategic plan? • What is your plan for supporting weak clubs? • What can your district do to support clubs? Discussion Questions Communication within the district • How often should members of the district team communicate with one another? • What information do clubs need from the district team? • What are the most effective ways to communicate this information?
