BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
Studying overseas improves the quality of RSBI/SBI teachers’ professional competence. • The quality of education can be improved by establishing RSBI/SBI.
RSBI/SBI uses SNP + Internationally Standardized Curriculum. • Regular Schools only use SNP.
THE OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY
To examine how the English teachers see the opportunities that they have got to study overseas.
THE METHOD OF THE RESEARCH
Respondent : The research study involved 22 English Teachers of Pre-Internationally Standardized School as the respondents.
Variables : • Feelings • Expectations • Perspectives
Questionnaire : 1. How do you feel with regard to the opportunity to study overseas? 2. What do you expect to learn in the university overseas? 3. How do you see the education overseas in relation to your professional development?

Feelings on the Opportunity to Study Overseas • The most of the teachers were emotionally stimulated with the academic opportunity in studying overseas. • Studying overseas is considered a good opportunity.
Expectations of Studying Overseas Learning English can be done while using language for communication and for other purpose.
Perspective on Professional Development from Studying Overseas The teacher’s professional development over salary increase follows the success in obtaining credit for passing teacher’s certification program.
Conclusion • Studying overseas contributed to professional development of the English teacher • Studying overseas improved teacher’s academic and professional competence. • Studying overseas surpasses the reward of getting certificate for portfolio in teacher’s certification program.
