This is what I’m going to tell you today: • A) a little about myself • As a person • As a student • What I want to do when I’m independent. • B) another bit about my internship • Place and type of activity • People who work there • My work at the site and my mentor • How do I do my work • What I have learned

  3. Who I am : • Born in: • Parents, brothers and sisters, other family. What do they do? Any family tradition that is important? (singing, music, sports, crafts). • How long in have I lived in town? • Schools attended:

  4. My favorite things, sports or other activities, food, visiting places or family etc.

  5. Things I am good at and I don’t know how I got them. • Things I am good at because I have trained or practiced a lot. (Playing an instrument, drawing, singing, cooking, fixing things)

  6. Things I have never done but I’m dying to try. (skydiving, traveling abroad)

This is what I want to be or do when I am independent : • Work in a particular area: Health related , construction or landscaping , teaching, transportation, food industry, engineering (machine building, installation or repair) • own a business (what kind? A pet store, a restaurant, a repair-shop) • Work for a company, work in family business

This is where I am doing my internship: • Name and type of place, location (professional office, school, business, address, include pictures of place, people working there). • What service does it provide to the community? • Who owns it or runs it. • How many years it has been running. • What are the activities at this place. • How many people work there? • What is the schedule?

  11. Date I started and what I do at the site. • Who is my mentor or supervisor? (does she/he own the business ? For how long? • This is what I do there: as detailed as possible. • The job I do / observe is <part of a sequence>, is <the whole thing at once> • This is what I see other people doing there (different from the work I do):

This is what I have learned (continued): • The people that come to <the site> to (buy receive help etc.) are • It takes # hours to do <this part of > or <the total> job. • # pieces are processed, stored, made, applied, installed in ### hours. OR… • This many people are seen, helped in one day. • The price of the <service>, <product>, I am involved with is $ ### dollars OR there is no charge because it is part of another larger activity.

  13. What do I think about the internship: • It has helped me to understand the business • It has been to short for me to be able to tell • I plan to finish this internship and hope that by the end I will understand, know more. Etc.
