  2. Objectives • Students will be able to identify various types of arrangements

  3. Bouquets • Is a collection of flowers in a creative arrangement • Roman and Greek civilizations, people used bouquets to honor their gods and decorate banquet tables • Often for special occasions • Bouquets made of roses are the most popular, followed by carnations, gerbera daisies and chrysanthemums

  4. Center Pieces • Floral arrangement used on dining room tables, dry sinks, and hutches. • Variety of plants used from evergreens (holly, pine, and fir) • Some include candles too

  5. Baskets • There are lots of plants that can be grown in baskets, including cheerful annuals, and small evergreen shrubs that will provide structure and all-year-round interest. • Rather than planting randomly, choose a colour scheme such as pink or white flowers, or use hot reds and yellows. • Although most baskets are planted in early spring and put outdoors after the risk of frost has passed, they can also be filled with frost hardy flowers and tough evergreens for colour over winter.

  6. Sprays • A varied selection of flowers linearly arranged, the spray is a traditional sympathy gift that is placed on an easel stand or the wall at the funeral home.

  7. Corsages • The flower worn on a young woman's clothing or wrist • Popular for school proms, dances, holiday parties, and weddings • Created with the person in mind

  8. Boutonnieres • is a floral decoration worn by men, typically a single flower or bud • reserved for special occasions for which formal wear is standard
