FACTS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT ISRAEL • The nation that came from Abraham, Genesis 12:1-3 • Descended thru Isaac and Jacob, Genesis 28:13-14 • Nation came from Jacob’s 12 sons, Genesis 46:8ff • Nation began while enslaved in Egypt, Genesis 46:3 • Moses brought Israel out of Egypt, Exodus 3:10-11 • Given the Law of Moses at Sinai, Exodus 19:20ff • Law of Moses called Law of God, Nehemiah 8:1ff • The Law given to Israel alone, Deuteronomy 4:1ff • Israel’s Law ended at the cross, Ephesians 2:14-15

NO Was it necessary that Gentiles convert to the Jewish faith before the New Law? • TWO EXAMPLES: • Jethro, a priest of Midian, Exodus 18 • The people of Nineveh, Jonah 3:1-10 • Two Opposite Misunderstandings: • Gentiles were under the Law of Moses. • Since Gentiles were not under the Law of Moses, they were under no law at all. It was possible for a Gentile to be right with God even though he lived before the time of Christ and was not under the Law of Moses.
