21. Funding Available for School Libraries • This funding is flexible. Control rests in hands of superintendents. • $13 billion Title I • http://www.ed.gov/programs/titleiparta/index.html • Funds for states and high-needs school districts. Funds available during school years 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 • $650 million Enhancing Education Through Technology • http://www.ed.gov/programs/edtech/index.html • Funds for district to spend on technology. Funds available during school years 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 • $48 billion State Stabilization Funds • Funds to help avert education cuts. School districts can also use some of this money for school repair and modernization. • $8.8 billion Funds are for cuts to other state services including education. Repair and modernization is also an allowable use of funds.
