April 3rd- Richmond, Virginia fell to Union forces. It is the capital city of the Confederate States of America. This led to the end of the Civil War (2). March 4th- The Presidential Inauguration took place. Smith framed a view from marble statue of George Washington (1). April 7th- John Wilkes Booth was thinking about killing Lincoln. However, he missed the opportunity (5). March 17th- Booth planned to ambush Lincoln's carriage. He failed to do so (24).
April 10th- Abraham Lincoln was at the second floor window of the White House. He greeted a crowd of citizens who were celebrating General Lee’s surrender (5). April 8th- Booth left New York City.
