Congruent Triangles. Section 4.2. Congruence. Two geometric figures are congruent if they have exactly the same size and shape. In two congruent figures, all the parts of one figure are congruent to the corresponding parts of the other figure.

Congruence • Two geometric figures are congruent if they have exactly the same size and shape. • In two congruent figures, all the parts of one figure are congruent to the corresponding parts of the other figure. • This means that the corresponding sides and the corresponding angles are congruent.

  3. Congruence Statements • The congruence statements MUST be written in the correct order.

  4. Write a Congruence Statement

  5. Third Angles Theorem • If two angles of one triangle are congruent to two angles of another triangle, then the third angles are congruent.

  6. Assignment • p.228: 3-16
