  4. Close Hauled Sails hard in Board fully down Kicker well on Point boat to keep tell-tales horizontal Helm and crew to windward Light wind: Ease the jib, kicker and main, crew sits middle Strong wind: power down Kicker hard on, downhaul tight, hike out, ease the main, keep boat flat

  5. Beam Reach Sails eased out a shade Board 3/4 down Kicker eased a bit Use tell-tales to trim sails May use the kite, but you can’t sail too high

  6. Broad Reach Sails eased out more Board 1/2 down Kicker eased right off Use tell-tales to trim sails Crew moves inboard May use the kite

  7. Dead Run Sails eased right out Board down a touch Kicker eased right off Crew moves across boat Watch out for the gybe Avoid sailing “by the lee”
