2. Jehoahaz 3 months • 2 Kings 23 • And they brought the body of Josiah from Megiddo to Jerusalem and the buried him in his grave. And the Am Ha’aretz took Jehoahaz son of Josiah and made him king in his father’s place. He was 23 years old when he became king and he was king for 3 months, his mother’s name was Hamotel the son of Jeremiah from Livnah. He did what was evil in the eyes of Hashem as all his fathers did. And Pharaoh Necho imprisoned him in Rivlah which was in the land of Hamas preventing him from reigning in Jerusalem and he placed a punishment on the land of one hundred talents of silver and one talent of gold. 3. Jehoiakim 11 years • He was 25 when he became king and he reigned 11 years . . . And he did what was evil in the eyes of Hashem. . . In his days Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylonia and Jehoiakim was his vassal or three years and then he rebelled. . . Hashem sent the army of the Chaldeans . . . To avenge the wrongs of Manasseh. . . And the king of Egypt did not leave his land since the king of Babylonia conquered from the brook of Egypt to the Euphrates that had been the possession of the king of Egypt. • (לו) בֶּן עֶשְׂרִים וְחָמֵשׁ שָׁנָה יְהוֹיָקִים בְּמָלְכוֹ וְאַחַת עֶשְׂרֵה שָׁנָה מָלַךְ בִּירוּשָׁלִָם וְשֵׁם אִמּוֹ זבידה זְבוּדָּה בַת פְּדָיָה מִן רוּמָה: • (לז) וַיַּעַשׂ הָרַע בְּעֵינֵי יְקֹוָק כְּכֹל אֲשֶׁר עָשׂוּ אֲבֹתָיו: • (א) בְּיָמָיו עָלָה נְבֻכַדְנֶאצַּר מֶלֶךְ בָּבֶל וַיְהִי לוֹ יְהוֹיָקִים עֶבֶד שָׁלֹשׁ שָׁנִים וַיָּשָׁב וַיִּמְרָד בּוֹ: • (ב) וַיְשַׁלַּח יְקֹוָק בּוֹ אֶת גְּדוּדֵי כַשְׂדִּים וְאֶת גְּדוּדֵי אֲרָם וְאֵת גְּדוּדֵי מוֹאָב וְאֵת גְּדוּדֵי בְנֵי עַמּוֹן וַיְשַׁלְּחֵם בִּיהוּדָה לְהַאֲבִידוֹ כִּדְבַר יְקֹוָק אֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר בְּיַד עֲבָדָיו הַנְּבִיאִים: • (ג) אַךְ עַל פִּי יְקֹוָק הָיְתָה בִּיהוּדָה לְהָסִיר מֵעַל פָּנָיו בְּחַטֹּאת מְנַשֶּׁה כְּכֹל אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה: • (ד) וְגַם דַּם הַנָּקִי אֲשֶׁר שָׁפָךְ וַיְמַלֵּא אֶת יְרוּשָׁלִַם דָּם נָקִי וְלֹא אָבָה יְקֹוָק לִסְלֹחַ: • (ה) וְיֶתֶר דִּבְרֵי יְהוֹיָקִים וְכָל אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה הֲלֹא הֵם כְּתוּבִים עַל סֵפֶר דִּבְרֵי הַיָּמִים לְמַלְכֵי יְהוּדָה: • (ו) וַיִּשְׁכַּב יְהוֹיָקִים עִם אֲבֹתָיו וַיִּמְלֹךְ יְהוֹיָכִין בְּנוֹ תַּחְתָּיו: • (ז) וְלֹא הֹסִיף עוֹד מֶלֶךְ מִצְרַיִם לָצֵאת מֵאַרְצוֹ כִּי לָקַח מֶלֶךְ בָּבֶל מִנַּחַל מִצְרַיִם עַד נְהַר פְּרָת כֹּל אֲשֶׁר הָיְתָה לְמֶלֶךְ מִצְרָיִם: End of the First Beis Hamikdash

4. Jehoachin3 months • 2 Kings 24 • When he was 18 years old Jehoachin became king and he reigned for 3 months. . . He did what was evil in the eyes of Hashem. . . And Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylonia put Jerusalem under siege. . . He took Jehoachin and his family to exile. . . He took all the treasure from the royal treasury and the Beis Hamikdash. . . He exiled over 100,000 people and all skilled labor only the poor remain. . . 5. Zedekiah 11 years • 2 Kings 24/25 • Zedekiah was 18 when he became king and reigned for 11 years. . . In the 9th year of his reign on the 10th of the month of Teves Nebuchadnezzar placed the city of Jerusalem under siege. . . 6. Gedaliah and the Final Exile • 2 Kings 25 • Nebuchadnezzar placed Gedaliah ben Ahikam as governor over those that remain in Judah. . . Gedaliah went o Mitzpah and Ishmael son of Netanya and others came to him. . . Gedaliah told them to settle the land and work for the king of Babylonia. . . It was on the 7th month and Ishmael who descended from royalty rose against Gedaliah and killed him. . . 7. Jeremiah the Prophet of the Exile • Jeremiah 1 • These are the words of Jeremiah son of Helkiah from the Kohanim who were in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin. Who received the word of Hashem during the reign of Josiah son of Ammon king of Judah during the 13th year of his reign.
