Scope – PanosInformation Portal • Background • As a regional media and communications organization that works to empower the most marginalized and vulnerable persons in the region, Panos Caribbean helps journalists to cover sustainable development issues that are overlooked and misunderstood. • The Internet and new Social media such as twitter, facebook and youtube are key components of Panos’ media and communications portfolio. • Panosis seeking to upgrade and enhance it’s web presence and develop information management platforms in order to provide more effective mechanisms for online database repositories, web-based information dissemination and training, and a variety of audiovisual and data visualization capabilities.

Functionality – Panos Information Portal • Online database management system to represent various categories of individuals and institutions: • Research institutions, local expertise • Media, journalists and journalistic networks (CEPF, IDRC) • CSOs and CBOs • Researchers, Policymakers • Indexed, searchable, catalog of electronic resource materials • Upload electronic documents, and other multimedia content • Provide meta-information for indexed search functionality • Contact/Constituency Management System • Targeted Mailings based on categories, groups or interests, • Event Management - Mailings, Online Registration, Participant confirmations

Functionality – Web Conferencing • Deliver a high-quality, virtual learning experience to remote students/participants • Support sharing of slides (PDF and PPT), video, chat, audio-conference during a webinar session • Record webinar sessions (slides + audio + chat), as well as video streams for later playback on demand • Ad Hoc Video Conferencing • Staff meetings, virtual office
