And God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.” (Gen 9:1)
“. . . was the first on earth to be a mighty man . . . a mighty hunter before the LORD . . .The beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar. From that land he went into Assyria and built Nineveh,” (Gen 10:8-10)
“ . . . the name of the one was Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided, . . .” (Gen 10:25)
“From these the coastland peoples spread in their lands, each with his own language, by their clans, in their nations.” (Gen 10:5)
During these years, the descendants of Noah remained together as one people, traveling to the land of Shinar. (Gen 11:1-2)
They rejected the idea of being “scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.”
The Lord saw the will of man and rejected it. The Lord confused the languages and scattered man over the face of the earth. (Gen 11:5-9)
