How Women Got Involved in War • All women who served in the war were voluntary. • Also some women in the military asked to go to Vietnam but some were sent against there wishes.
Jobs Women Had In The War • There were many jobs for women in the war. • These jobs consist of support staff in hospitals, crewed on medical evacuation flights, with MASH unit, operation groups information offices and numerous clerical, medical, intelligence, and personnel positions. • Women were treated as second class soldiers during war.
Women Also Suffered In War • Women suffered as much as men during war and were often in the line of fire from rockets and mortars.

Number of Women That Participated or Were Killed • Little or no data exists on the women who served that were injured or killed. • 7,484 women served in Vietnam. • 4,000 women served on active military duty. • Over 60 civilian and non-civilian women were killed.
Vietnam War Memorial • There were 58,261 names on the wall and that only included 8 women. • They didn’t forget about the women they dedicated a memorial to the women only.
Women Against The War • Even though many women served in the war there were women who protested against the war.
Mothers During The War • Most mothers were against the war because when there husbands and sons went to war the mothers and younger children were left to suffer.
