Minecraft All you need to know By Andrew Pridgen
Mobs Mobs are a very important in minecraft. You need then to make beds, bows, food and much more! Without them the minecraft world would not be very fun or exciting. In the following slides you will find a description for most mobs. There are two kinds of mobs, hostile and passive. We will begin with hostile mobs and progress down.
Zombie • Zombies are the most common hostile mob in the minecraft universe. They attack by touching you and take away 1 heart per strike. They are often found in gangs of 3-5. They will start to weaken in sunlight and light on fire. For this reason they only come out at night. They also currently drop Rotten Flesh.
Spider • Spiders are another hostile mob that rules the night. They attack by biting you and take 1 heart per strike. Unlike zombies however, they travel alone. Spiders can also grapple up walls. Spiders are immune to sunlight, but will not attack unless provoked during the daytime. They currently drop spider eyes and string.
Cave Spider • Cave Spiders are just like regular spiders, but more deadly. They have a venomous bite and are smaller than the regular spider so they can fit through 1 block wide holes. They can even fit through ½ block holes! Their bite is also venomous and takes away a ½ a heart a second for 6 seconds. The timer resets every time you are bitten. They also only spawn in abandoned mineshafts. They usually are found in groups of 2-5.
Creepers • Creepers are the bane of minecrafters everywhere. They attack by touching you but if you hit them, they will blow up! They take away 4 hearts when they touch you and depending on how close you are to the blast it can kill you or take away any number of hearts. Creepers also travel alone. Creepers also do not die in sunlight but are still as aggressive as ever! They currently drop gunpowder.
Skeleton Archers • Skeleton Archers are the dead with a thirst for the living! They attack you by shooting you with arrows(although their aim is lousy). These arrows take away half a heart if you get hit. Skeleton Archers travel solo but can team up with a Spider to form a Spider Jockey. Skeletons burn up in sunlight. They currently drop bones and arrows.
Spider Jockey • Spider Jockeys are rare but deadly. They are the result of a spider teaming up with a skeleton. The skeleton sits on the spider and rides him around. They have more speed and more accuracy, although the arrows still take away only half a heart. The spiders can also attack by biting you if they get to close. There can only be 5 on a map at a time, and you have to kill each mob separately.
Endermen • The endermen is a black menace. They are three blocks tall and can pick up blocks and move them. They can also teleport past your defenses and kill you. They also teleport away if attacked. They do 5 hearts damage if they touch you and but their status as “hostile” is questionable because they never directly attack you unless you look at them. Endermen also travel alone.
Zombie Pigmen • Zombie Pigmen are the most common nether monster. They spawn in the Nether and can only occur in the real world if a pig gets struck by lightning or lightning strikes one block around it. Zombie Pigmen do 2 hearts damage per strike and usually hang out in groups of 3-7. They also burn up in sunlight. They currently drop gold swords or gold ingots.
Ghasts • Ghasts are the ghosts of people who have died in minecraft. They spawn in the Nether and can breath fireballs. These fireballs take away 3 hearts per strike. Ghasts travel alone and burn up in sunlight Angry Ghast Peaceful Ghast
Blaze • The blaze is the minecraft equivalent of a demon. It has fiery rods spinning around it and attacks by breathing fireballs. It can also fly. They travel alone or in groups. Their fireballs do 3 damage per hit. They do not burn in sunlight.
Cows • Cows are a passive mob that is very useful. They spawn on grass. Once you kill them they do not come back and drop 0-2 pieces of leather and 1-3 pieces of raw steak. They can also be bred to make a cow farm.
Sheep • Sheep are another passive mob in the game of Minecraft. They spawn on grass and yield wool if you kill them , but will give wool if you shear them, and you don’t have to kill them! They usually spawn in groups of 1-3. they can also be bred to make a sheep farm.
Pigs • Pigs are the pork providers in minecraft. They spawn on grass and currently drop raw pork unless you light them on fire and then they drop cooked pork. This also works with cows and chickens. They usually spawn in groups of 1-3 and can be bred to make a pig farm.
Chickens • Chickens are spies for Herobrine. At least that is my theory. They run around the map and lay eggs randomly. They also drop raw chicken and feathers when killed. They spawn on grass and usually stalk you in groups of 1-3. <- such a stalker
