  17. HOMEWORK POLICY 1. Students are expected to bring in their homework completed and on time each day. No late work is accepted. 2. Name must appear on work for full credit 3. Homework must be recorded for each subject. This includes daily assignments; future quizzes and test dates; report and project due dates; and special reminders 4. Missing homework notices will be sent home when appropriate (Blue notes) Students will receive 0% credit for any missing assignments. 5. If a student is unable to complete assignments after 45-60 minutes, a note from the parent is needed. The student is still responsible for knowing the material since the curriculum is based on the California State Standards. *

  18. QUIZZES AND TESTS 1. Students will be notified of tests in advance 2. Quizzes can be scheduled or given as “pop” quizzes when needed 3. Students talking or cheating during a quiz or test receive an F (0%), a misconduct notice is issued, and a parent signature is required

  19. Grading 1. Most assignments will be given a percentage grade that corresponds to a letter grade 2. Smaller assignments or practice will be counted as credit/no credit 3. Grading will be based on completeness of assignment, portion of assignment completed correctly, effort, directions followed, and neatness. 4. LATE, MISSING, OR INCOMPLETE ASSIGNMENTS COUNT AS A ZERO 5. Missing assignments: parents will be notified when appropriate and grade will be lowered 6. Students will be rewarded for turning in assignments on time 7. Progress reports will be sent out 3 times throughout the year or as needed 8. Variety of assessment techniques: teacher observation, student self assessment, rubrics, tests, writing (formal and informal), standards checklist
