Proof that this theory works (using Kung Fu Panda): • The first film we have used to prove Todorov’s theory is ‘Kung Fu Panda’… • Stage 1: Furious Five are training, Po is in noodle shop. • 2: Po gets chosen as the Warrior. This shows that he has a purpose, or a challenge to overcome, such as defeating Tai Lung. • 3:This is realised and acknowledged when Tai lung escapes from maximum security prison following a vision of the future seen by Oogway. • 4: In an attempt to prepare for Tai Lung’s attack on the village, Po is Taught Kung Fu by Master Shifu, who eventually gains trust in him. Po gains the title of the Dragon Warrior and is granted the Scroll. • 5:When Tai Lung does arrive, a huge battle occurs between him and Po. After eventually defeating him, Po discovers the secret of the scroll and earns the trust of the town. There is now an equilibrium again. By Jovan
