PLO (Pre-writing): Student will identify a topic and brainstorm a list of words or phrases that explain the topic. PLO (Drafting): Student will use their prewriting list to create a draft of an acrostic poem.

  3. Form of Writing: Acrostic Poetry: One topic word, broken down by letters, each letter has a describing adjective or phrase. • Stage of Writing: Prewriting: Organize list of ideas on a graphic organizer.

  6. Practice Activity • 4th grade level: • Pull up graphic organizer on SMARTBoard • Class brainstorm ideas about a topic • Pick topic • Make a list of words or phrases on topic • Complete graphic organizer on SMARTBoard.

  7. Assessment • 4th grade level: • Complete a graphic organizer with a topic with 8 adjectives or short phrases. • Remember to include all parts of the graphic organizer because you will be graded on it.
