  3. ORIGINS (WHY?) The traditional education system does not stimulate entrepreneurship. There was a need to improve training in areas related to economy, business management and creativity. The connection between the Academy and businesses was superficial and without added value. A job for life is gone! PYE – PROMOTING YOUTH EMPLOYMENT

  4. INTERVENTION STRUCTURE Axis 1 – Training Axis 2 – Research Axis 3 – Entrepreneurship (promotion) PYE – PROMOTING YOUTH EMPLOYMENT

  5. AXIS 1 – TRAINING Entrepreneurship (120 hours). Technological Based Entrepreneurship. Business Management for Businessmen. Entrepreneurship Subject (Undergraduate). Entrepreneurship Seminars (Masters). Book Empreendedorismo, Gestão e Espírito Empresarial. PYE – PROMOTING YOUTH EMPLOYMENT

  6. AXIS 1 – TRAINING Immediate practical applications to the daily business operations. Decision making and error demystification. Handling technical tools used in modern management. Contact with high qualified professionals with a deep knowledge of the market. Contact with other entrepreneurs who can be future partners, clients, suppliers or networkers. PYE – PROMOTING YOUTH EMPLOYMENT

  7. AXIS 1 – TRAINING • 3 years of activity – 2008-2011. • 38 training courses. • 560 trainees. • 5 Islands: • Santa Maria • São Miguel • Terceira • Pico • Faial PYE – PROMOTING YOUTH EMPLOYMENT

  8. AXIS 2 – RESEARCH University of the Azores quality mark. Understanding the phenomenon of entrepreneurship. International and national partnerships.
