It takes the analog signal from your phone and converts analog data to digital data over the transmission system. IP Phones: These specialized phones are just like normal phones with a handset, cradle and buttons. IP phones use an RJ-45 connector for internet connection. IP phones connect directly to the router and use all the hardware and software system required to make calls.
