  2. Resizing • When resizing an image for printing, a higher resolution will translate into a sharper image with a much greater clarity.

  3. Rotating • Rotate your image clockwise, counter-clockwise, spin around or enter a specific value to position your image after scanning.

  4. Flipping • Flip your image horizontally or vertically to position as required.

  5. Selection Transformations • The Free Transform submenu allows you to scale, flip, rotate, slant, distort and move a selection or layer in one continuous operation.

  6. Liquify • The Liquify command allows you to paint and erase distortions inside a separate window. The image can be dragged to warp, shift, twirl, expand, contract and even copy pixels.

  7. Applying Masks • A With a mask, you can create free-form selections, select areas of color and generate precise selections.

  8. Quick Mask • The Quick Mask mode is the fastest and most straightforward environment for creating a mask.

  9. Layer Masks • Layers offer special masking options in their own regard.

  10. Manipulating Type • Type cannot only be filled with color, but also with pictures.

  11. Creating Paths • Regular pen tool, a path is built by creating individual anchor points.

  12. Editing Paths • After creating a path, it can be selected or edited by using thePath component selection tool (black arrow) or the Direct selection tool (white arrow) .

  13. Using Paths • Various other options allow you to use Paths by turning them into selections, Filling and Stroking them with color and shading once they have been created.

  14. Sharpen Filters • Sharpen, Sharpen Edges and Sharpen More filters allow you focus blurry images to improve the image clarity.

  15. Blur Filters • Six different Blurring Filters allow you to apply various degrees and techniques of blurring: Blur, Blur More, Gaussian Blur, Motion Blur, Radial Blur and Smart Blur filters.

  16. Artistic Filters • Various Artistic Filters allow you to achieve a feeling of a natural painting, or apply a special effect to an image.

  17. Brush Stroke Filters • Brush Stroke Filters allow you to apply various brush and ink stroke effects to give your image a painterly or fine-arts look.

  18. Sketch Filters • Various Sketch Filters are used to add texture to images, often for a 3D effect.

  19. Distort Filters • Various Distort Filters are used to distort an image, to create 3D or other reshaping effects.

  20. Pixelate Filters • Various Pixelate Filters are used to sharply define a selection by clumping pixels of similar color values in cells.

  21. Stylize Filters • Various Stylize filters produce a painted or impressionistic effect on a selection by displacing pixels and by finding and heightening contrast in an image.

  22. Preparing the Image • From the main menu, choose Edit > Color Settings to open the Color Settings dialog box.

  23. Printing the Image • The Pint dialog box allows you to prepare your printer to for printing.
