You are permitted to • A. combine like terms • B. substitute identities • DO NOT DO THE SAME THING TO BOTH SIDES OF THE EQUATION!!! • Look for ways to factor, add fractions, square a binomial, or • create a monomial denominator • 3) Look for places to substitute the fundamental identities • 4) If you can’t see a way to make #1-3 work, try converting • everything to sine and cosine • 5) Always try SOMETHING. You may see a development in the given • equation that gives you an idea about what to try next!
