This modified search feature allows users to search for one data element at a time and provides detailed results with clickable titles and library names. It also offers the option to view titles only, increasing the number of displayed items. The Place of Publication index supports variant spellings, and the display adjusts for Arabic language preferences. Users can also utilize the built-in Accessibility Tool and On-Screen Keyboard for Arabic input.

Modified results display: 1 – this example shows all title fields (here 245, 246 visible for demonstration purposes only) N.B. same number of records selected.
By clicking on the title in the results display, the OACIS user sees this sub-menu.
Or the user may select by library name to see the Brief View and the holdings, if available.
Showing titles only shortens the list, but offers less identifying information to the user.
By including the place of publication, the number of items displayed in the result list increases.
Place of Publication index allows for variant spellings, e.g. Beirut, Bayrut, Beyrouth, or بيروت
The number of items are the same whether using English or Arabic as the selection language. The display shifts to Right-to-Left if the Language Preferences are set to Arabic.
The user may also take advantage of Microsoft’s built-in Accessibility Tool, the On-Screen Keyboard if the Regional Language settings of the workstation include Arabic.
If Language preferences are set to Arabic, the Basic Search provides a keyboard tool.
