W Eagle Tales Those of us teaching in the Aeronautical Science Department at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University have not been teaching all of our lives, as some students might think. We did in fact, engage in all manner of flying prior to becoming flight instructors and classroom professors. Some of us came from the civilian ranks, there are those of us with airline experience, some in our group have a charter background, and some of us plied our trade in the military. The flying we did in those respective positions gave each of us a wonderful store of experiences from which to draw and pass on to our students in the classroom. Many times, we don’t get the opportunity to pass on the human side of the things we teach in aviation. Each of us, like every student of today, has gone through our own trials and tribulations. In the pages of this book, are some stories that may or may not make it to the classrooms; each is a good story, well worth the telling and the reading – especially the reading . . . The key to learning this trade of aviation, is experience and one way to gain some insightful experience is through reading. Enjoy and learn . . .
