  1. Guideline #1 Treat each person in this room with dignity & respect.

  2. Guideline #2 Be in your assigned seat & working on the assigned “Boot-Up” work when the tardy bell rings.

  3. Boot-Up 8.9.13 / 3 min. WELCOME TO GE METRY Evaluate the expression below. Show all work. 2 (3[5 + 2]-1) Objective: SWBAT explain & model classroom policies & procedures.

  4. Guideline #3 Bring all required books & materials to class every day & take them with you when you leave.

  5. Daily Required Materals: - 2 Pencils - 3 Notebooks: Classwork, Homework, Learning Log - 1 Folder: Toolkit - Textbook - Other materials as needed. Guideline #3 (Cont’d)

  6. Guideline #4 Follow directions the first time they are given.

  7. Guideline #5 Follow all procedures & policies as set forth in the DeSoto County School District as written in the school handbook.

  8. Special Guideline This classroom is a “No Whining Zone”. Everyone is responsible for his/her own actions & is expected to work. No one wants to hear whining or excuses daily!

  9. FollowingGuidelines will result in . . • Verbal acknowledgement. • A stress-free learning environment. • A pleasant & orderly classroom atmosphere.

  10. Not Following Guidelines will result in . . . • 1st • Warning & documentation • 2nd • Action Plan, • Parental Contact, & • 30 minute after-school detention Fridays Only!! • 3rd • Disciplinary Referral

  14. Severity Clause Any student who: • Uses Profanity - Fights • Damages school property (this includes the property of the teacher and other students), or is • Disrespectful (as defined by the teacher) • will be sent to the office IMMEDIATELY.

  16. Entering the Room • Please enter quietly. • Go directly to your assigned seat. • Take out your materials. • Place your backpack neatly in the designated area. • Begin Boot-Up assignment.

  17. If you are tardy . . . • Enter quietly, without calling attention to yourself or disturbing others. • Excused: Place excuse slip in the designated area. • Unexcused: Sign detention list on top of file cabinet. • Take your seat, take out your materials, start working.

  18. Getting Your Attention(Normal Circumstances) I will . . . • Raise my hand. • Wait for everyone to “Mirror Me” & get quiet. (Wait will last no longer than countdown of 5.) • Begin speaking.

  28. Scheduled Check Out • Please let me know as you enter the classroom. • I will be at the door. • Quietly raise your hand to get my attention. • Pack your materials and leave at the scheduled time. • If it is an emergency, quickly get my attention and I will assist you.

  29. Turning in Papers • Place your team’s papers in 1 stack on the corner of the aisleway desk. • A designated classmate or I will come by & collect all stacks.

  30. Classroom Discussions • PLEASE participate. • I want to hear what you have to say. • Make all questions and comments relevant to the current discussion. • If your question is off the topic, write it down and ask later.

  31. Moving Around the Room • You must ask for Teacher’s permission. • Do not ask during a classroom discussion unless it is an emergency.

  32. Class Dismissal • The teacher dismisses you, not the bell. • Please wait until teacher gives you the signal prior to packing up. • Wait until the teacher finishes & officially dismisses you with: “Have a greatday!”
