  3. VP University Computer CoursesThat are available are: • Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) • Additional Applications (Access, etc.) • Web page design • Programming classes

  4. Software Applications • Training is available for all employees, and Builders through New Horizons

  5. Available from New Horizons • Microsoft Access • Microsoft Word • Microsoft Excel • Microsoft PowerPoint • Microsoft Front Page • Microsoft Outlook • Much more on … www.newhorizons.com

  6. VPU Online Catalog will show the courses that are available. • To access the VPU Catalog: • Go to the VP Intranet (iwww) • Click on VP University link • Look at the course listings

  7. How to Enroll

  8. Access the VPU Intranet Website

  9. From Course Listings, select a course. This will give you a description of the course and who to contact.

  10. Click on the “Course Enrollment” Link

  11. Fill out the Enrollment form Press the Submit at the bottom when complete.

  12. Enrollment Instructions • An Employee must obtain approval from your supervisor • Your supervisor must either email or Fax the completed form to Don Deleray at 209-669-4129.

  13. Training Opportunities

  14. New Horizons provides training opportunities in four ways: Training Options • Local dedicated workshops at a New Horizons location • Regional workshops at a Plant location, instructed by a New Horizons Instructor (min. 15 people) • On-Line Instructor lead courses • On-line Self Study courses

  15. Local dedicated workshops • Most offerings can be taken at a Regularly scheduled course time at a New Horizons location: • Requires the employee to go to their location • Most training is 1 day, and weekdays are typical.

  16. Regional workshops • On some occasions a workshop may be scheduled at a Service Center or New Horizons location and employees will participate. • Minimum of 15 people is required.

  17. On-line Instructor Lead courses • Course is taken at a specific time on-line. • All attendees have access to the instructor while taking courses • Classes are at a specific time and day, it is a must to sign in at the prescribed time.

  18. On-line Self-study courses • Workshops designed to meet your specific needs • Available at any time or day, and can be accessed at work or at home.

  19. Program Instructions • Courses may or may not apply directly to the employee’s scope of work. They may be used as personal development. • Courses that are on line may be taken after hours and at home or during business hours and at work. • “When” is the decision of the Supervisor. • All employees have 4 weeks to complete a Self-study On-Line course*. * - unless other circumstances are expessed.
