The 22nd Annual Conference of the Scandinavian Society for Head and Neck Oncology (SSHNO) will take place on board the Coastal Steamer (“Hurtigruten”) from Bodø to Bergen 22 – 24 April 2010. • There will be a small reception before boarding Bodø in the night between 21 and 22 April. The ship “Polarlys” will leave Bodø 22 April at 04.00 in the morning and arrive Bergen Saturday 24 April at 14.30. • The programme is under preparation and will include: • Epidemiology with focus on HPV • Imaging – the role of PET/CT • Radiotherapy, especially IMRT • Chemoradiotherapy • Radiotherapy or endscopic surgery for limited glottic carcinomas? • Reconstructive surgery • Quality assurance • Outcome studies – QOL • Thyroid surgery • Subspecialization in head and neck oncology/surgery – The European model • Ongoing research projects • Guest speakers will include preliminary Patrick Gullane from Toronto and John Watkinson from Birmingham.
Abstract deadline has been prolonged to 7 March and abstracts are still welcome, especially within the above topics. Send abstracts by e-mail to jan.olofsson@helse-bergen.no The total cost for the trip with “Hurtigruten” from Bodø to Bergen including breakfast, lunch and dinner and two coffee pauses per day will be NOK 8 141 (single cabin) and NOK 6 920 (double cabin). In addition there will be a conference fee of NOK 2 000 for active participants and NOK 1 500 for accompanying persons.
