Alpines The French Alpine originated in the Alps. They were brought to the US from France. No distinct color has been established, however they usually range from shades of gray/silver and black and white. Main Menu
Toggenburg The Toggenburg originated in Switzerland in the Toggenburg Valley. Their color ranges from light fawn to dark chocolate with white accenting the legs and face. Main Menu
Saanen The Saanen goat originated in Switzerland in the Saanen Valley. They are the largest of the dairy goat breeds and produce the most milk. Saanens can only be white with no other coloration. Main Menu

Nubian The Nubian was developed in Great Britian. Nubians are known for being able to live in hot climates. Nubians can be any color, pattern, or combination. However they are distinguished by their Roman Nose. Main Menu
Oberhasli The Oberhalsi is an very old breed of dairy goat from the Canton of Berne in Switzerland. They can only a certain color; a warm reddish brown accented with black stripes on legs, body, and face. Oberhalis may also be pure black. Main Menu
Lamancha The Lamancha is a relatively new breed of goat. It was first bred in Oregon. They are perhaps the most distinctive breed of goats easily recognizable by their very short ears. They may be any color combination. Main Menu

Nigerian Dwarf The Nigerian dwarf is a miniature goat breed of West African ancestry. The Nigerian Dwarf was originally brought to the US as a food source for large cats such as lions. Nigerians can be any color combination however they may not exceed 21 inches tall. Main Menu
Pygmy Main Menu The Pygmy goat is a small breed of goat primarily used for pets. They tend to be more robust or stockier than Nigerian Dwarfs. They also can be any color combination and may only be 23 inches tall.
Boer The Boer goat originated in South Africa in the early 1900’s for meat production. They were brought to the US in the early 1990’s. They like the Nubian, have a roman nose and pendulous ears. They are the most efficient breed of goats in terms of meat production. Main Menu
Angora The Angora originated in Ankara, Turkey. Angora goats produce lustrous fiber known as Mohair (similar to wool in sheep). They can be easily distinguished by their mohair and “sheep dog” appearance. Main Menu
