They work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive the highest standards of care through their perioperative journey. As an ODP you will deliver expert, compassionate care throughout all phases of this journey to enhance the experience of patients and their carers.
The qualification • Redesigned and exciting programme which enables students to become competent, highly sought after, effective and adaptive professionals • Endorsed by the College of Operating Department Practitioners (CODP) • Eligibility to apply for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
Course structure • Highly integrated and focused 2-year course High emphasis on developing your clinical practice- 60% of the programme is in the practice setting Theoretical modules are delivered through the use of lectures, simulation, seminars, clinical skills lab work, action learning sets, SoMe, home learning etc. • Shared learning with other allied health professionals

Clinical roles exist in a range of other settings, including critical care units, trauma and medical response teams.
