At-Risk Eligibility Criterion #4 STAAR 3-8 Spring 2013 “…did not perform satisfactorily on an assessment instrument administered under Subchapter B, Chapter 39, and who has not in the previous or current school year subsequently performed on that instrument or another appropriate instrument equal to at least 110 percent of the level of satisfactory performance on that instrument;”

System Safeguards: Why do we have them? Two-fold purpose: Act as a safety net to ensure that poor performance in one area or one student group is not masked in the performance index. System Safeguards: Implications System Safeguards sit outside of the rating system and do not change the rating, however; For Campuses/Districts with Met Standard rating, every“N” must be addressed in the campus or district improvement plan For Campuses/Districts in Improvement Required, every “N” must be incorporated into that improvement effort
