ALWAYS point the muzzle in a safe direction. • This is to protect the people around you. As long as the muzzle is pointed in a safe direction if it were to accidently go off then there would be no worries because the muzzle was pointed in a safe direction. Menu Next
Treat every firearm with the same respect as you would a loaded one. • If you treat it as if it were loaded at all times then hopefully this should keep you safe at all times. Menu Next
Be sure of your target and what is in front of it and behind it. • My cousin was hunting for deer. It was deer season and not turkey season. He was told by his father to shoot. He replied “Dad its not turkey season!” A turkey had gotten in-between the deer and him. Its important to know what is in front of and behind your target so you accidentally don’t shoot an animal that’s not in season or more importantly you don’t kill someone. Menu Next

Handle firearms and Ammunition carefully • This is mainly to protect the weapon and the ammunition. Know your safe zone-of-fire and stick to it. • Know what area is safe to shoot in and stay in that area. Menu Next
Control your emotions when it comes to safety. • If you are angry and upset its ok to shoot and take out a little frustration on a target however, don’t skip any safety rules! Be safe stay as calm as possible and have fun to help your mood. No one’s mood is improved if they hurt themselves or someone else. Menu Next
Wear ear and eye protection. • Ricochets happen and when they do you want to be wearing eye protection! The casing can bounce back and hit you in the eye as well or maybe someone in the next lane is shooting and one of there casings can fly and hit you in the eye. • Hearing protection I think is self-explanatory. Guns are loud and you should protect your hearing from loud noises. Menu Next
Don’t drink alcohol or take drugs before or while handling firearms. • Self-explanatory really. • You need to have a clear mind to be able to make clear and safe decisions. • Would you trust this guy with a gun? Menu Next
Beware of additional circumstances which require added caution or safety awareness • This could mean any number of things, but as long as you are safe no trouble should come to you. Use your head. If something says don’t shoot check it out first. Then follow your instincts. Quiz Menu
