What is Trauma • Event: An event, series of events, or set of circumstances • Experienced: By an individual as physically or emotionally harmful or life threatening and • Effect: That have lasting adverse effects on the individual’s functioning and mental, physical, social, emotional or spiritual well-being
What Can We Do? Understand trauma and the impacts of it Do not cause more trauma Prepare initially and throughout case
