Standards/Objectives Standard 8: Cadets know and apply theories of leadership. Objective B: Cadets understand leadership roles, levels and teams and know the conditions of followership necessary to be an effective leader. Objective C:Cadets know the definition of a leader and leadership and know the Cadet Leader’s Code from memory. Objective F:Cadets know the roles and responsibilities of noncommissioned officers. LEVELS OF LEADERSHIP -Continued Organizational leadership Involves: • Influencing large group of people • Establishing policies • Long term planning • Complexity and uncertainty • Constant revision and modifications JROTC-9: Leadership
LEVELS OF LEADERSHIP -Continued Strategic leadership Involves: • Establishing structure • Allocating resources • Communicating strategic vision • Preparing everyone for future roles • Uncertainty and political influence JROTC-9: Leadership
LEADER TEAMS & STRUCTURES Leadership within teams usually comes in two forms: • Legitimate (formal) • Influential (informal) JROTC-9: Leadership
