Clarifications on BI budgets/priorities (BWS, BLMs) After discussions with Bernd, Christos and Malika
Number of new rotational WS needed • Checked with Karel, Giovanni and Verena for the number of needed WS in SPS (OP, ecloud and emittance preservation). • All agreed that two operating WS per plane is sufficient. • Karel added that the units should be able to be exchanged ‘quickly’ (confirmed • So we stick to 4+1 units, with budget of 650 kCHF for the moment, for the WS
Priority of WS installation across LIU • Brought up the question of LIU priority for the WS in the different machines on Thursday 6th March in the project meeting. • Suggested that SPS > PS > PSB for the NEW WS installation, and of course that all should be complete before end LS2. • Waiting to confirm this within LIU (Bren to follow)
BLM upgrade for LIU-SPS • For the BLMs, for LIU-SPS agreed that the scope should be SPS ring ONLY (i.e. no TI2, TI8, TT10, TT40, TT60, TT41, TT66). • 40 kCHF to be added to the present numbers for the immediate purchase in 2014 of 40 new ionisation chambers. • Concerning priority, will keep (for now) the present LS2 deadline for installation of SPS BLMs • BI will plan to make a general review in late 2014 on the BLMs for LIU, to cover the planning, priority and scope of the activity.
Priority of BLM installation across LIU • Also brought up the question of LIU priority for the BLM in the different machines on Thursday 6th March in the project meeting. • Suggested that PSB > PS > SPS for the NEW BLN installation, and of course that all should be complete before end LS2. • If LS2 installation is not possible, then will no longer be considered as part of the LIU project • Again, waiting to confirm this within LIU (Bren to follow)
