  1. Ligers lifespan

  2. Topic The topic of my project is Ligers lifespan. I am interested in this topic because I was told that ligers have a short lifespan.

  3. 2. The topic that I am researching is interesting because I am finding out things that I did not know how ligers like the first liger and the record of a liger lifespan.

  4. 3. In the beginning of the research I did not feel satisfied because I could not find enough evidence about my topic. Now I feel much better about the research.

  5. 4. Shasta was the first liger cub in the united states. She was born in 1948 in Hogle zoo in salt lake city. Shasta had the face of her father and the feet of her mother who was the Siberian tigress. Shasta was her mom first so she did not have the right care and was treated by the humans. She weighted 2 pounds and then reached 30 pounds when she got to the zoo. Shasta lived for a long time and made the world highest record for ligers lifespans. She lived to 24 and died in 1972 because of kidney failure and was the only liger in the world. On National Geographic magazines for kids say that ligers have a short life span but they cant give a clear evidence about ligers lifespan. In the chart Ligers are proved to live longer than their parents. In 2006 a liger died at the age of 11-13. In 1972 the liger died at the age of 24, this shows that they do not have problem with living a longer life span. I think ligers do have a longer lifespan and can live longer than their parents. Do you think ligers can have a longer lifespan?Ligers are world largest cats and are big than their parents. They could have the same abilities as their parents. the average male ligers can stand up to 12ft tall. If the father is the lion and the mother is the tiger than the outcome will become a liger and can become gigantism. Both lion and tigers were put into a cage and did not fight. Ligers have different appearances from their mom and dad but only they look they their parents.

  6. 5. Yes I would like to continue this research in the future. I would like to finish the research because I think theirs more research to find.

  7. 6. I think I answered my question. In my research I explain how long ligers lived and different age the live up to.

  8. 7. This topic affected people who thought ligers did not existed. There are myths about ligers having a short life span.8. No because a lot people thought ligers did not exist. Another reason would be because of their height and how big they are.

  9. 9. This project did have some difficulties. The difficulties of this project was what websites to trust and what information to use.
