As I got closer to the barn I saw My horse standing patiently in the straw.
I stroked her back gently and thought, of everything that I’d been taught.
To be too lazy to tighten the saddle, if the horse seemed to hard to handle.
I knew I’d fall as soon as I mounted, Because I’ve fallen many times not counted.
I looked up to see, Shining bridles hanging by threes.
I fingered the cold metal and leather, wondering which one would be better.
I carefully inspected each one to see, the one that was perfect was dark green.
When I mounted and headed on my way, the horse stopped where it wanted to stay.
I urged her on and she started walking, But before I knew it I was falling.
I hit the dust with pain, And looked down to see an unwanted shirt stain.
If I did not love that horse, I would mount her back again with remorse.
But there I was on my way again, Realizing that if I quit there would be no gain.
On the way to my destination, The road seemed to have hole-infestation.
