Pfizer launches the Omicron vaccine trial and hopes that it will get approval by the end of March 2022. More than 95,000 cases were reported in the UK and the highest deaths recorded in the UK since February 2021. The yearly data showed that more than 400 deaths were recorded in the last year due to coronavirus in the country. The company announced that they are going to begin the new trials for the Omicron variant with its German Partner BioNTech. To counter the latest variant of the coronavirus – Omicron, they developed the advanced vaccine and started the trials. Sources confirmed hopes of getting approval by the end of March this year.

They are keeping this under review as NHS workers/staffs’ vaccination was mandatory as per policies. The Covid policies for NHS staff confirmed that for them the jabs are mandatory. The government is investigating why they are unvaccinated. Further, the Government is planning to return to Plan A and end the Plan B from Feb 11. Fully vaccinated people can travel the UK without any pre-departure or post-arrival tests. The government Health Secretary added that there would be relaxation for the unvaccinated people too. Travellers can visit the UK without any restrictions from Feb 11. Earlier, people who are travelling to the UK had to take the pre-departure and post-arrival tests. In addition, the UK government said they are ending the mandatory rules for wearing masks and Covid Passes. Further, England and Scotland ended working from home rules in the countries. People can return to offices from the next week.
