  4. Qualifications: • 50+ consecutive years as CAA / FAA pilot • Up to 20 years can be military • US Citizen or Permanent Resident all that time • “Clean” pilot record • No revocations, civil penalties, or suspensions

  5. Qualifications: • 3 letters of recommendation from FAA pilots • Must apply to FAA; can download the forms • Award can be up to 2 years posthumously

WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT HIM • Leon is a knowledgeable, active instrument pilot, and is highly respected by myself and other pilots at our EAA 175 Chapter at (KVDF). • Leon stays current with FAA safety concerns as I can attest that I have witnessed his presence at many monthly FAASTeam Safety Seminars. • He is a man of good deportment and high moral ground regarding aviation and his fellow man.   12. WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT HIM Leon dedication and enthusiasm have led him from a young solo pilot in 1961 to his commercial and instrument ratings and is a respected member of our aviation community. Leon has always been an enthusiastic advocate of aviation, aircraft ownership, and a dedicated supporter of FAA, AOPA, and EAA programs. He is a strong advocate of aviation safety encouraging more importantly our student pilots.
